Sara McClelland

Although Sara originally started yoga as a fitness regime, it quickly took hold in her life and became a passion.  She always

wanted a career where she could help people improve their health and by extension, their lives.  She offers a gentle

approach to yoga through alignment-focused asanas (poses), pranayama (breath control), and restorative meditation

techniques. As a person with many interests, Sara has many creatively-sequenced classes for particular common

activities and interests, such as Runner Yoga and Yoga for Creativity. She lives in Belleville with her partner Christopher

and their young son.

Christopher Andrews

Christopher started yoga while finishing a certification as a personal fitness trainer (PFT) with ISSA.  Yoga quickly became

his main focus however, and he applies the teachings from his personal fitness certification to modify and adjust poses to

be accessible to all people.  His PFT origins also help in making suggestions as to which muscle groups within a student

need either more work, or more care.  He teaches a wide range of classes ranging from beginner to more active and

advanced, but his main focus is on improving the body's strength and flexibility, no matter the student's capabilities.

He and Sara enjoy taking their young son on outings in Belleville.

Nyx Hauth

Nyx Hauth, a Professional Music Major at Berklee College of Music in Boston, began studying yoga at a young age.

The incorporation of meditation quickly became a strong focus for them. Nyx teaches with Mahari Yoga on breaks from

college. In addition, they have taught yoga in Tokyo and Tohoku, Japan.

What is Mahari Yoga?

Mahari Yoga is a union of Hatha, Raja Yoga and Yoga for Orissi Indian Classical Dance. This fusion allows aspiring yoga practitioners to blend movement and pranayama into a graceful form while maintaining a focus on the goal of meditation. This follows the Himalayan tradition and maintains an inner focus. We work with grace in movement, building and maintaining strength, increasing flexibility, and concentration of the mind through meditation.

One of our basic premises is that yoga can be done at any stage of life. Therefore, we offer classes for all ages, fitness levels, and body types.

We offer traditional Hatha, Flow, Raja, Restorative, and Chair Yoga classes as well as classes on meditation. Our instructors are certified and offer modifications and advancements as needed. Mahari Yoga has a class to fit your needs!
